Here we are heading into February and most of us are either trucking along with our New Years Resolutions or we’ve reached that point where the motivation is slowly fading away. If winter is getting you down, you know you have one fun thing to look forward to… Spring Fashion!  This spring and summer will be all about continuing the trends that got their start in the evolution process last fall.

The boots trend is here to stay. We’ll see plenty of the hipster looking suede, flat scrunch boots, but we’ll also see the tops of boots climbing higher and higher. Whether you’re going for a comfortable ‘effort free’ look with some rich brown riding boots or you’re looking to turn heads with some thigh high boots, you’ll be able to find what you need in stores this spring. The skinny jean seems to be sticking around, so plan on tucking them into boots.

We’ll also see the platform shoe continue to evolve. The heels will be teeny, but the platforms will be high in the front. Look for chic rich shades of purple, blue and maroon this spring.

Every year there’s a new take on the strappy sandal. This year the bands will be wider and come up on the ankle more. The gladiator got it’s start a few years back and this year we’ll see an more modern version of it. Instead of looking ‘hippie’ and ‘bohemian’, they have heels and will appeal to the more chic urban set.

One great thing about fashion lately is that comfort has been key. Even when the shoes are sky high, they tend to have a wedge or platform that make them more comfortable. Flats have ruled for a few years now and with the continuation of the riding boot trend, we’ll continue to have comfort and fashion blend together.
